About Us
The two Js represent a father-son team - Jason and Jake. Jake is our machinist and Jason helps with all other aspects of the shop.
Jason has over 15 years in the automotive field working as a lead mechanic and later as the regional manager of a chain of smog emission facilities. He studied engineering in college and later built a career in data and business analysis.
Jake studied automotive technology at PPCC and later took a job at a local machine shop, where he discovered his passion for automotive machining. He was mentored by several local machinists and learned a great deal under their direction. One of his mentors was the late Lenier Henry of Lenier's Speed Shop in Colorado Springs. Upon Lenier's retirement, he made an arrangement with Jake to purchase a good portion of his equipment. Jason retired from his corporate gig to partner with Jake and thus the beginning of 2J's Speed & Machine LLC.
The matriarch of the family, Holly, assists with marketing, promotions and administrative needs.
